The board represents students from every class year and an array of Jewish and non-Jewish interests and backgrounds. Susan Leff, Executive Director
Susan Leff joined the staff at UVM Hillel in January 2004. She is a graduate ('73) of Bennington College with a degree in Theatre. She holds a Master's in Education from UVM. She has been a resident of Burlington for 20 years and has 4 children. She sits on the Board of Temple Sinai in South Burlington where she has also taught 6th grade Judaica, and on the Board of Very Merry Theatre, a traveling children's theatre for whom she also designs and executes costumes. Byron Murray, Director of Jewish Student Leadership
Byron Murray joined the UVM Hillel staff in November of 2011. He graduated from UVM in 2006 with degrees in Environmental Studies, Philosophy and Studio Art. He sits on the Board for The Israel Center of Vermont. Byron joins our team after an Israel Governemt Fellowship at the Israeli Presidential Conference through the Menachem Begin Center in Jerusalem. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, tennis, pottery, snowboarding and other outdoor activities. Byron's door is (almost) always open...except on a powder day. Sharon Silverman, Leadership and Engagement Coordinator
Sharon Silverman started as a staff member at the UVM Hillel in August of 2011. She joined our staff after graduating from Penn State with a degree in Jewish studies. Sharon loves coffee, schmoozing, a capella and Mel Brooks. She also really enjoys exploring cultural Judaism and finding out about peoples various customs and traditions. Sharon is always up for a good chat, especially if it involves talking about last night's episode of Glee. Einat Vizel, Israel Fellow
Einat joined the UVM Hillel staff in September, 2011.She brings to Vermont her personal narrative as a young Israeli woman, as well as a wide range of Israel advocacy and educational leadership experience.Her focus at UVM is engaging students through Israeli travel, cultural, educational and advocacy opportunities.
